Visitor Information

Birdworld is now open for business but as expected, there are some changes in place for which we need the co-operation of our visitors. We are doing everything that we can to ensure your safety but also, that of our team.

Entry to Birdworld is currently by pre-booked tickets only and you will be unable to purchase tickets at the entrance. This includes Annual Pass Holders who can book tickets at zero cost. 

 

Please note that during this period all entry prices have been reduced and we are therefore unable to accept discount vouchers of any nature. We are also unable to offer Family tickets.

Limited numbers. During this period, we will be limiting the number of visitors that we can permit to be in the park at any one time. This will include Annual Pass Holders, and everyone MUST book tickets online for a specific day

If you feel unwell, please do not visit Birdworld at this time.

Social Distancing is of course key, and we are operating these guidelines.
• Visitor must stay in their group throughout the day and keep 2m spacing from other groups at all times.
• We ask that everyone shows respect for other groups of visitors and for our staff.
• Please observe and adhere to spacing where marked on paths.
• Please be patient if waiting to view exhibits.
• Visitors are welcome to navigate the park at will but please try and keep to the left-hand side of two-way paths wherever possible.
• All walk-through exhibits will be strictly one way only.

Catering is available throughout the park but is limited to our kiosks. We will have a good selection available but please be aware that this offer will be more limited than normal. You are welcome to bring a picnic.

Toilets are open in all three locations although the amount in each location is limited. The toilets will be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. We will ask a family/ social group at a time to use the facilities as directed.

Gift Shop. This is open for purchases but again will be restricted for social distancing.

Aquarium. Due to the narrow corridor, we regret that the aquarium is currently closed.

Payments. We are operating a cashless system throughout the site and our limit for contactless transactions is £45.

Daily Events. To avoid unnecessary gatherings, we regret that during this period there will be no daily events. (Penguin Feeding, Discovery Theatre, Outdoor Flying Display, Animal Encounter or Owl prowl.) In addition, we are unable to operate the Safari Road Train and all play areas will be closed. We are unable to sell Bird food during this period. The Link Footpath to Forest Lodge Garden Centre will not be open.

Please be aware that that undercover areas will be limited so we advise that you bring weather appropriate clothing as necessary for your visit.

We are of course disappointed to have these restrictions in place, but it is great to be open and by visiting us, you will be helping to support our animals.

In support of government guidelines, personal data may be used for contact tracing purposes. This will be stored securely and destroyed appropriately after use.
